Jeon Soo Kyeong

Plot

The film consists of three stories about mothers and their children.

More info at Hancinema.

What I Like

Cast, cast, cast. This looks potentially over-weepy, but Uhm Jung Hwa and Yoo Hae Jin are in it. It looks like a nice story and like I said, liking the cast helps. It's very interesting to see how the relationships differ and if the movies does have something good to say. I think it will.

Apprehenders

Title

The Apprehenders/체포왕 (Chae-po-wang) - Action, Comedy

Cast

Park Joong Hoon
Lee Seon Gyoon

Plot

An action comedy about two men who try to win the title of "the apprehender" by catching a suspect, which is as good as winning the lotto. More info at Hancinema.

What I Like

Need I say it some more? The cast. Love these two guys and they're so much fun individually, I can only imagine what they can do in the same movie. Bromance and friendly competition, the male bonding and cock fights (the poultry... yesh...) in Korean works are lovely to see. I hope this will be as fun as it looks. I don't think they'd cast these guys to waste their talent.

Last Blossom

Title

The Last Blossom/세상에서 가장 아름다운 이별 (Se-sang-e-seo Ga-jang A-leum-da-woon I-byeol) - Drama, Family

Cast
Bae Jong Ok
Kim Kap Soo
Kim Ji Yeong

Plot

Based on the novel by screenwriter Noh Hee-kyeong and the 1996 drama “The Most Beautiful Goodbye,” this film tells the moving story of an ambitious yet family-oriented woman who has to say goodbye to her family. More info at Hancinema.

What I Like

Weepfest, I'm sure. Hell, the trailer has me in tears already and that's barely two minutes. But Ryu Deok Hwan is in it and it looks nice. It might be a wonderful movie. Even if depressing. Like I said in my previous post, if there's meaning to sadness, go ahead and make me cry like mad. I'll still love you, work. Move me, don't depress me.

Late Blossom

Title

Late Blossom/그대를 사랑합니다 (Geu-dae-leul Sa-rang-hab-ni-da) - Drama, Melodrama, Romance

Cast

Lee Soon Jae
Yoon So Jeong
Song Jae Ho
Kim Soo Mi

Plot

Man-suk and Lee-pun meets in an alleyway on a warm snowy day. It continues to become a love that brings out laughter just by thinking of the loved one. Goon-bong loves the way wife Soon asks “What did you do today?” on his back. Goon-bong and Soon, who have loved only one person their whole lives More info at Hancinema.

What I Like

Well, if the previous one had me in tears, this one has me in tears and smiling. A romantic movie in Korea which does not include gorgeous young people. A talented cast of respected veteran actors. This will be sad, but it will be the good kind of sad. I really want to see this movie. Especially after Lee Soon Jae has started commenting on current issues and is calling everyone on their crap in a very fair way.

Clash of Families

Title

Clash of the Families/위험한 상견례 (Wi-heom-han Sang-gyeon-rye) - Romantic Comedy

Cast

Song Sae Byeok
Lee Si Yeong
Baek Yoon Sik
Kim Soo Mi

Plot

When cartoonist Hyun-joon (Song Sae-byeok) falls in love with Da-hong (Lee Si-yeong), one of his fans, it sets up the archetypal battle between their two families, who are from rival regions. Hyun-joon comes from the politically liberal Honam region (North and South Jeolla) while Da-hong comes from the conservative Yeongnam region (North and South Gyeongsang). When the two declare their intention to marry, they are confronted with a seemingly endless number of barriers that threaten their happiness. More info at Hancinema.

What I Like

I'm really interested in this. Marriage issues because of "enemy" families, towns, clans etc were very common in my country too and still are, in some areas. We even have a dear old greek movie with this theme. So, this is something close to home. It's a good setting for comedy. I like the cast and the scenes I've had a glimpse of looked hilarious.
